Ansa McAl Trading Limited is hosting two music workshops for past participants of the Carib Soca Monarch competition, as it continues to implement programmes in honour of its 20th anniversary.
In a press release, the company said the sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Side Walk Café, Middle Street at 2 pm.
The facilitators are Roy Cape, leader of the Roy Cape All Stars and Cultural Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago and Music Producer Daryl Braxton, and renowned musician from Barbados Arturo Tappin.
The Carib Soca Monarch 2013 is expected to be launched during the first week of November which will give performers a chance to compete for the title of Carib Soca Monarch King or Queen.
Ansa McAl said the Carib Soca Monarch has allowed it to contribute to cultural development in Guyana which is reflected in the success of alumni such as Adrian Dutchin, Marlon ‘Malo’ Webster, Shellon ‘Shelly G’ Garraway, Orlando ‘Bonesman’ Johansen and the 2012 winner Jumo Primo.
