Lucky escape? An attempt to beat the amber traffic light at the corner of Rupert Craig Highway and Conversation Tree proved costly for a pickup truck driver after he reportedly caused a three-vehicle crash. An eyewitness told this newspaper on the scene that the drivers of motor car PLL 8822 and another car which were in parallel lanes slowed to a stop. The woman, who did not want her name published, said the driver of the gold coloured pickup came up with a speed seemingly under the impression that the car would have driven through the amber light. The impact resulted in PLL 8822 hitting the car alongside it before ending up in a nearby weed infested canal. Lucky there were no injuries.
