Kishun Bacchus is a man of many firsts.
Following his victory in the inaugural President’s Cup golf tournament last month, he accomplished another major feat when he shot a hole-in-one at the Lusignan Golf Course recently.
Bacchus, the vice president of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) shot a 205-yard hole-in-one during the Courts Guyana Inc. 19th anniversary tournament three weeks ago.
This is a rare feat for golfers the world over and to honour the achievement, the construction entrepreneur was presented with a Crystal ball trophy by members of the Lusignan Golf Club during the presentation ceremony of the United Insurance tournament.
The presentation was made by Jerome Khan, president of the LGC.
Bacchus has been in good form this season but his triumph in the President’s Cup organized by the Ministry of Tourism, under the patronage of His Excellency, Donald Ramotar, was a stunning performance. Meanwhile, golfers are gearing up for a packed programme over the next few weeks with several major tournaments lined up including the premier Guyana Open championships.
On Saturday, the players will square off in the Players Championship sponsored by Citizens Bank followed by the Annual MACORP tournament on October 20.
The Digicel two-day classic, sponsored by the local telecommunications giant will take place on October 27-28.
The prestigious Guyana Open, sponsored by Banks DIH Limited, will be held from November 3-4 while the Safeway Security Invitational and National Milling Company (NAMILCO) tournaments will be staged on November 17 and 24 respectively.
