Ricardo Rodrigues who is wanted by the police for questioning in connection with the recent discovery of a cache of arms in Lethem this morning turned himself into police at Eve Leary.
His lawyer Glen Hanoman confirmed his detention and said that the police have indicated that they would not be granting station bail at this time.
The attorney told Stabroek News that after learning that police had issued a wanted bulletin, Rodrigues contacted him last night and arrangements were then made for him to be accompanied to E&F Division headquarters at 9 am today.
While confirming that Rodrigues and the main suspect Clive King called `Bora’ are cousins, Hanoman said that he is unaware of King’s location.
King’s employee Benedict Thompson has since been charged with the discovery which was made last Monday in Tabatinga, North Lethem and is on remand. His wife who was also arrested has been released from police custody after being questioned.
