Uitvlugt Football Club and BV/Triumph secured victories when the preliminary rounds of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League competition was played on Sunday.
At the Blairmont Community Development Centre Ground Uitvlugt FC defeated New Amsterdam United 3-2 with Uitvlugt’s Jamal Harvey netting in the 10th minute from the penaly spot.
The other gaols came from the boots of Jamal Petty and Marlon Brandis in the 27th and 66th minutes respectively.
At the BV Community Centre Ground, host BV/Triumph edged out Silver Shattas of Upper Demerara 2-1. Akin Curry and Delroy Deen scored for BV Triumph in the 37th and 66th minutes while Colwin David scored in the 60th minute.
The competition continues on Sunday at GFC Ground, Bourda and Uitvlugt Centre Ground.
