An early morning accident on Tuesday at Paradise, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has resulted in the death of a father of five.
Dexter Bristol, 39, of Non Pariel, ECD, died at the Georgetown Hospital on Wednesday as a result of a fractured skull and spine after he was taken to the institution after 12 am on Tuesday.
Bristol’s aunt, Marva Bristol, said she was uncertain whether her nephew was involved in an accident on his way home, but he had left her home at Golden Grove, around 12 am on Tuesday. Dexter Bristol was riding his motorcycle.
She said she subsequently received a call informing her to go to the hospital because her nephew had been rushed there.
She said when she saw her nephew at the hospital he was bleeding profusely and was in excruciating pain so she did not have a chance to inquire from him what had happened. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
A cousin of the dead man stated that someone had told him that Dexter was involved in an accident and was taken to the hospital. The cousin added that he was shocked when he heard that he had died on Wednesday.
Relatives said they had not yet heard from the police.
Bristol was described as someone who was friendly and helpful. He leaves to mourn his children, mother and father and other relatives.
