Speaker of the National Assembly Raphael Trotman will address a business luncheon being hosted by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at the Pegasus Hotel, Guyana next Thursday.
The business luncheon is one of a series of public events undertaken by the GCCI in recent months. During recent media brief-ings GCCI President Clinton Urling and other members of the executive have been emphasising the importance of creating an agenda that will encourage members to identify more closely with the objectives of the organisation.
In recent interviews, Urling pointed to the importance of strengthening the role of the GCCI as an advocate for the private sector and contributing to the growth of the small business sector in Guyana. Since his election to the presidency of the chamber earlier this year, Urling has presided over the setting up of the crucial Advocacy Commit-tee as well as clearing the way for small businesses to become members of the chamber.
Meanwhile, the chamber has also announced that United States Embassy Economic/Commercial Officer Eric Moore will give the feature presentation at a Customer Service Seminar being hosted by the organization at the Pegasus Hotel on November 15, from 08:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs. A release from the GGCA says that the primary objective of the seminar is to sensitize the business community on critical issues relating to the enhancement of the delivery of customer service in Guyana.
