Puran’s body will later be taken to the Good Hope Crematorium, East Coast Demerara for cremation, he said.
Police said in a press release that around 0645 hours Puran was found in his motor vehicle in a canal at Esau and Jacob, Mahaicony. Police officials said that from all indications, Puran, a prominent criminal lawyer, was the victim of an accident.
According to reports, Puran left his Kitty home around 5:20 pm on Monday (which was also his 57th birthday) for his farm at Mahaicony. He was going to take feed for his pigs.
It is suspected that when approaching a sharp turn at an area referred to as the Mahaicony Branch Road he lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle in the trench.
