(Jamaica Gleaner) News of another missing postal worker have left colleagues and family in shock as a frantic search intensifies for the 30-year-old woman.
Yesterday, detectives turned to persons close to Tandy Lewis, the missing woman, to collect statements.
Lewis is a public relations officer at the Post and Telecommunications Department.
The police yesterday visited her apartment to search for clues that could lead them to her, but they came up empty-handed.
Members of the public are being asked to call Crime Stop at 311, the police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station if they have any information about the missing woman.
By all indications, the management and staff of the Post and Telecommunications Department have not yet come to terms with the recent death of another colleague who had been abducted along with a female friend.
On September 16, two badly decomposed bodies found by in a cane field near the Innswood Estate in St Catherine were identified as that of Barrington Davis, the 44-year-old deputy chief of security at the Jamaica Postal Service, and his female companion, Patricia Lurmot-Barnswell.
The two had been missing since August 29, when relatives reported that they were abducted from Davis’ home in St John’s Heights, St Catherine.
“The management and staff of the Post and Telegraph Department view with great concerns and consternation recent reports that our colleague Miss Tandy Lewis has been missing,” a statement from the department declared.
APPEALING FOR HELP
“While we continue to pray earnestly for her safe return, we have given our full support to her family and the police,” the statement added. “We implore anyone who has information regarding Miss Lewis’ whereabouts to immediately contact the police.”
In the meantime, the police said Lewis, who is of Dunrobin Acres in Kingston 10, has been missing since Tuesday.
She is of brown complexion, slim build, about 149 centimetres (4’11”) tall and has a scar on the centre of her chest and the upper right arm.
Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that Lewis was last seen at home about midnight, and has not been heard from since.
At the time she went missing, she was dressed in a white strapless dress and a brown sweater.
