A murder accused prisoner was stabbed by another inmate after an altercation at the Camp Street Prison yesterday morning.
Claude McDonald is now nursing stab wounds at the Georgetown Hospital, according to Prison Director Dale Erskine, who said the man’s assailant has been isolated.
He could not detail the extent of Mc Donald’s injuries, except to note that he had been was hospitalised.
Asked what he was wounded with, Erskine said that he was not in possession of that information.
Over the years, prisoners have been wounded during altercations with other prisoners. Sharpened implements, which are hidden from prison officials, are used during the attacks. There have been several cases where inmates had to be hospitalized or killed after such attacks.
