A vagrant, alleged to have stolen a number of bottles belonging to the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, was yesterday remanded to prison.
Moheir Ramsaywack, 23, described by police as a known vagrant in the Bourda Market area, is alleged to have stolen two cases of empty bottles, valued at $2,500, on October 18, in Georgetown.
Prosecutor Winneth Hubbard told Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry
that the accused was spotted in the compound of the ministry with the bottles in a bag that he was holding. Hubbard said an alarm was raised and Ramsaywack was captured by police ranks that were in the area at that time.
Although the prosecution had no objections to bail, it was refused due to the fact that Ramsaywack had no fix place of abode.
He will make his next court appearance on November 2 in Court 5 for reports and fixtures.
