The police say they are investigating the murder of Herman Ramnarine, 56 years of Lima, Essequibo Coast, which occurred at about 2015h yesterday.
Police say that investigations revealed that housewife Haimwantie Ramnarine was at home when she was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a cutlass. Police say that they tied her up and took away an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of jewellery and fled.
Haimwantie later managed to free herself and went in search of her husband Herman whom she found lying motionless on the lower flat with injuries to his head, his hands tied behind his back and a piece of cloth wrapped around his neck. He was taken to the Suddie Hospital where he was pronounced DOA.
Investigations are continuing.
