According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, five tenders were green-lighted in the security sector for the procurement of equipment and furniture for the Ministry of Home Affairs, $24.08M; the procurement of communication equipment for the Guyana Police Force (GPF), $31.72M; the construction of the brick prison (phase one) at Camp Street; $50.93M; the delivery of motor vehicles for the GPF, Guyana Fire Service and the home ministry’s secretariat valued $17.87M. A contract for the procurement of military kits for the Guyana Defence Force valued $42.86M
