PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC-Trinidad and Tobago will host the Caribbean Cup Karate Championships scheduled to take place from November 24- 25 at the Maloney Sport Complex.
Competitors from St Lucia, Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, Bahamas, USA and Venezuela are expected for the two day event.
A number of teams from Trinidad and Tobago are also down to compete including T&T Sport Martial Arts Elite, Titus Academy of Martial Arts, T&T Budo Kai, Tobago Martial Arts Academy, T&T Budokan, and Trinity Karate Dojo.
For the first time there will be a full contact division under the rules of kyokushin karate, officials have said.
The tournament is organised by the T&T Karate Federation (TTKF) and will be the last major event for the year.
The Caribbean Karate Championships are sanctioned by the World United Karate Organization (WUKO) and the Ministry of Sport.
