Companies from eight countries yesterday submitted bids to supply, install and furnish Guyana’s first forensic laboratory.
The National Procurement and Tender Administration Board opened bids yesterday at its Main and Urquhart Street Office for the project.
Falling under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Citizen Security Programe, the bids for the supply, delivery and installation of forensic laboratory furnishing equipment were divided into 14 lots. Some companies bid for all while others for specific lots.
The companies and their bids are as follows: IPA of Guyana Lots 1,2,5,6,7,8,9,11&14 US$1,028,147; CCS Guyana Ltd Lots 1-13 $20,276,404 M, Lot 14-$7.8M; Digital Technology of Guyana Lots 1-13 US$69,257, Lot 14 US$73,032; N.T Computech of Guyana Lots 1-13 US$20,664,199M and Lot 14 US$19.5M; Clever Solutions Ltd of Trinidad Lot (2) US$12,700 Lot (4) US$227,586.08¢ Lot (5) US$9,230.03¢ Lot (6) US$11, 480.62¢ Lot (7) US$17,750 Lot (10) US$346,607. Another Trinidadian company, Analogic Solutions of Trinidad, bid for all lots 1-14 at US$429,526.10¢;Scalar Scientific and Technical Ltd also of Trinidad bid for Lots 1,2,5,6,7,9&11 at US$871,787.12¢.
Western Scientific Company Ltd, of California in the United States submitted bids for Lots 1 to 12 at a cost of US$1.4M; AGMIN SRL of Italy’s bid was Lot (1) US$786,585 Lot (2) US$25,600 Lot (5) US$32,780 Lot (6) US$18, 279 Lot (7) US$55,100 Lot (9) US$51,868 and Lot (11) US$89,472 . Flexilab S A De C V of Mexico bid for Lot (10) US$384,379.92¢ Lot (12) US$146,761.06¢. Global Corporation of Netherlands Lot (3) US$255,000 Lot (4) US$226,750; Fisher Scientific based in the USA with branches across the world bid for Lot (6) US$13,347.47¢ Lot (11) US$60,660.47¢ Lot (12) US$223,409.67¢ while Industrial and Technical Supplies of Jamaica tendered bids at Lot (2) US$16,264 Lot (5) US$15,363.46¢ Lot (6) US$9,482.13¢ Lot (7) US$44,938.80¢ Lot (8) US$32,750 Lot (9) US$52,335.31¢ Lot (10) US$86,436 Lot (11) US$54,562.56¢.
Also, preparations for the construction of the Amaila Hydropower plant are moving full steam ahead with steps being taken to procure key services. The latest was the opening yesterday of bids for the design and construction of the Kuribrong bridge.
With an Engineer’s Estimate pegged at US$1,828,000 the bids saw three companies tendering Dynamic Engineering Company Ltd, $393.1M; C&H Engineering and Construction Company Inc. $2.8B (Billion) and Envirotech of Trinidad$7.4B (Billion).
