Miner Royston Moore, 34, was found murdered on Monday in White Creek, Matthew’s Ridge, North West District.
In a press release yesterday, police said Moore was found dead with what appeared to be gunshot wounds on his body, but apart from the marks of violence and the area in which he was found, there was little else mentioned.
“Well I can’t really tell you much yuh know because the details still sketchy, yuh hearin a lil piece here and a lil piece there but nuthin aint really comin in flush,” said Anthony Harding, the man’s brother. “I was heading home on Monday when a man tell me, look da man want talk to yuh, when I go to the man is then they gon tell me they murder yuh brother.”
The man stated that when he received this news he immediately ran to the house where his brother stayed when he came out of the North West District. “When I come round here they tell me that they hear he geh find with couple stab wounds, so like they stab he to death,” said Harding.
Harding shared that his brother has been living and working in the North West District since 2003. “He did living in the bush all the time, the last time he came out was in June.” He said that his brother owned one or two shops in the area and for that reason rarely ever left the district, however whenever he did make the journey out he would usually stay with his sister and nephews at her 21 Middle Street Pouderoyen, West Coast Demerara residence.
The body of the man is currently at the Port Kaituma Hospital Mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
