Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets (RHTGG) on Saturday scraped past West Berbice at the Area ‘H’ ground to secure their third win in succession in the Berbice Cricket Board/Tenelec first division limited overs competition.
Batting first West Berbice scored 201 all out in 45.5 overs with useful contributions coming from Sherwin Mc Pherson 49 (4×4, 2×6), Rafael Estriado 37 (4×4), Keith Fraser 33 (3×4, 2×6), Pooran Prashad 27 (2×6, 1×4) and Steffon Adams’ 16 (2×4, 1×6).
National Under-19 skipper Shawn Perreira captured four wickets for 54 runs while Eon Hooper and Clinton Pestano supported with two wickets each for 23 and 40 runs respectively.
In reply Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets lost two early wickets for
32 runs but recovered through a 149-run third wicket partnership.
Iva’s 77 included 12 fours and two sixes while Sinclair struck nine fours in making 68.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets were sitting pretty at 181-2 but the fall of Ivan’s wicket triggered a massive collapse and the slumped to 199-8 before the level headed Perreira, who was not out on two and
Clinton Pestano, not out on one, saw them home.
