The Guyana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) will be providing free vaccinations for dogs across the country, starting on the East Coast.
In a press release, the GSPCA said a team will be available at several locations across the country to provide this service. Vaccinations will be done at the St John Boscoe Orphanage at Plaisance on November 8 and 29 from 1pm to 4pm. A similar exercise will be held at the LBI-Better Hope Community Centre on November 15 and December 6 from 1pm to 4pm.
The GSPCA urges the public to take their dogs to be inoculated to safeguard against diseases such as distemper and parvovirus which can be fatal.
For more information the public is invited to call telephone number 226-4237 to schedule a GSPCA team visit or to visit the Animal Shelter at Bourda to make an appointment.
