It is one month since the shooting to death of Dameon Belgrave by the police and the file is still to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecu-tions (DPP).
The file had been sent to Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, Cecil Kennard, for him to make comments before it is sent to the DPP. When contacted yesterday, Kennard said he had returned the file to Crime Chief, Seelall Persaud, for further clarification on a few issues before he can offer his opinion.
Kennard also noted that once he receives the file, it would not take him long to make his comment and send it to the DPP, who will make the final decision on the matter.
The three policemen implicated in the killings are under observation, which means they are not in custody, Persaud had previously told this newspaper.
Belgrave, 21, of Middle Street, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, was fatally shot near the White Castle Fish Shop on Hadfield Street, on October 6 by police who were after some boys in a car. He would have celebrated his 22nd birthday the day after his death.
