DHAKA, Bangladesh, CMC – Bangladesh have stepped up preparations for their first Test against the West Indies by naming a 22-man preliminary squad for the game, which begins at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka November 13th.
The uncapped players in the squad are wicket-keeper Anamul Haque, batsman Mominul Haque, 17-year-old quick bowler Taskin Ahmed, off-spinning all-rounder Sohag Gazi, all-rounder Abul Hasan and bowler Al Amin.
Test-capped cricketers to have missed out on selection include former captain Mohammad Ashraful, spinner Suhrawadi Shuvo and opener Imrul Kayes.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also named a 12-man squad which will play for the BCB XI against the tourists from 8th November in a three-day game.
Bangladesh play two Tests, five One-Day Internationals and a Twenty20 International during the West Indies’ tour.
