Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday refused bail to a man who allegedly attacked a woman in Kitty to rob her, after he admitted that he was previously jailed for a similar offence.
Seon Wilson, 30 admitted that he served four months in jail for armed robbery, when he was arraigned yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on October 29, in Georgetown, Wilson, of Lot 12 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, unlawfully assaulted Gloria McGregor, with intent to commit a robbery. No details on what transpired on the date in question were provided to the court.
In a bid for bail, Wilson said that he is a single father who recently worked at the Jettoos Lumber yard. When asked about previous convictions, he informed the court of his four-month sentence.
The prosecution also objected to bail, citing the seriousness of the offence and the fear that if Wilson is granted bail, there is a possibility that he might flee the jurisdiction.
Wilson will make his next court appearance on November 14 in Court 10 for reports and fixtures.
