Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee assured devotees at the Alexander Village mandir that they will have the police’s full support during Diwali celebrations today.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, the minister told the meeting on Sunday that police will be posted at different locations in the village to deter persons who may try to disrupt the celebrations.
Support is provided every year to the community because of disturbances that had occurred during celebrations for the Festival of Lights. Rohee said he believes that the trouble is caused by delinquents both within and without the area.
