The taxi driver who was shot twice by gunmen on Sunday evening in Moleson Creek is still nursing his wounds.
Last evening when Stabroek News spoke to Fiona Niles, the sister of 31-year-old Jermaine Rover, she said her brother was still in the hospital waiting for the bullet to be removed from his shoulder.
She also said that her brother lost a lot blood and whenever he blows his nose or coughs, blood comes up. Niles added that he is complaining about pains he is experiencing in his shoulder. His eyes are running constantly, as well she said.
Niles questioned why the bullet in her brother’s shoulder could not be removed. She said her brother had related to her that he had seen a doctor on Sunday, but up to today the doctor had not returned.
This caused the woman to express frustration over Rover’s condition. She is hoping that her brother can be transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital so that he can receive the treatment he needs.
This publication was told that the father of three is still in the ICU at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
The Number 78 Village resident was shot to his face and his shoulder by one of three men who had hired him to drive them to Moleson Creek. The men subsequently escaped with his car, which was later found at Foulis with two men inside. The men were arrested and are assisting the police with investigations.
