Action in the Guinness in the Streets Futsal competition continued on Monday night with eight exciting round two matches.
In the first match Sophia B defeated Durban Street 2-1 with Fazal Kamal and Octtive Graham netting in the 14th and 15th minutes respectively.
The lone goal for Durban Street was scored by Chris Galloway in the 11th minute.
In the second game, South Ruimveldt defeated West Back Road 2-0 with Colin Daniels and Leon Dawson scoring in the fifth and 10th minute.
California Square defeated Festival City 2-0 in the third game of the night with Christopher O’Brian and Leon Bishop scoring in the first and sixth minute respectively. Festival City just could not score a goal despite their best efforts.
Stevedore Housing Scheme edged Norton Street West 1-0 with Quason Winder scoring the lone in the sixth minute.
Game five saw East La Penitence inflicting a 5-1 drubbing on Kingston. Orvin Milton in the third minute, Sheldon Shepherd in the sixth and seventh minutes, Carl Tildon in the 11th minute and Dennis Edwards in the 14th minute scored for East La Penitence. The lone goal for Kingston was scored by Colin Clarke in the 10th minute.
Shem Porter and Delon Williams scored the three goals for Alexander Village in their defeat of Norton Street in game six. Porter scored his two goals in the third and 14th minutes while Williams scored in the seventh minute.
Sophia A lost to Broad Street B when the two teams clashed in the seventh match of the night. Daniel Favorite in the second minute, an own goal in the 10th minute and Shaka Nunes’s 11th minute strike were enough to give Broad Street the victory. Quncy Chappelle scored the lone goal for Sophia A.
The final match of the night saw North Last Entrance defeating Lodge Housing Scheme 3-0. Travis `Zorro’ Grant scored two goals in the third and 16th minutes while Rickford Jones scored in the 14th minute.
Play continues tomorrow night at the Thirst Park Parking lot with another eight matches.
In the matches Festival City will play Bent Street; Princess Street tackles Laing Avenue; Lodge Housing Scheme will face Albouyston B; Island All Starr will engage Sophia B, Back Circle will tackle Norton Street West; East La Penitence will oppose Norton Street East, Globe Yard will tackle Albouystown A and Queen Street Tiger Bay will clash with East Front Road.
