Nine teams will battle for supremacy in the Neal and Massy Inter-Company 10-over Tapeball cricket competition which opens today at Banks DIH ground at Thirst Park. The competing companies are Associated Industries Ltd. (AINLIM), Demerara Oxygen Company (DOCOL), CCS, NMSS, Bermudez, Geddes Grant, Marketing and Distribution (M&D), Berbice and Essequibo.
Berbice will clash with DOCOL in elimination match with the winner advancing to the quarter-finals.
The quarter-final matches will be AINLIM taking on Geddes Grant, Essequibo battling with CCS, M&D taking on the winner of the DOCOL/ Berbice match, while Bermudez will come up against NMSS.
Starting time is at 08:30 hours.
The semi-finals and final will be played next Sunday at the same venue.
Prizes will be awarded to the winner, runner-up, third place finisher, the batsman with the most runs, bowler with the most wickets, Most Valuable player and Man of the match in the final. Neal and Massy Sports Coordinator Rodnew McDonald said that the teams have been hard at training so cricket fans can expect keen competition.
