The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security has commenced its old age pension book distribution exercise around the country for the year 2013 yesterday.
Distribution sites such as those in Kitty, Alexander Village and East La Penitence had few pensioners waiting to uplift their books as compared to previous years where long lines of pensioners had to wait for hours.
Pensioners at the various sites stated that there were large numbers of pensioners waiting to uplift their books earlier in the morning but after midday the numbers had decreased to mainly those who arrived late.
From all indications, the exercise at these locations seemed to have been smooth as those who were finished their business sat for a chat with others.
The distribution exercise will continue today and for the rest of the month at various sites across the country.
