My problem which was relayed in a letter in last Tuesday’s issue of SN (November 20) under the caption ‘GT&T collecting rent from phone which has not been fixed for 20 months‘ has now been solved with the installation of a new telephone set.
From all appearances, the publication of the letter was responsible for the quick action in restoring the service by removing the defective one. Nothing else had to be done.
It would now seem that other customers in the district so affected would have a better chance for remedial measures by resorting to the press instead of using the complaints office at Anna Regina, which in my opinion serves no useful purpose.
An issue that still needs to be resolved is my request for a refund of monthly rental payments made along with VAT for the entire period when no service was being provided.
