The knockout stage of the Guinness in the Street tournament starts today with four matches at the Banks DIH Parking Lot.
Stevedore tackles Queen Street– Tiger Bay, followed by West Front Road playing South Ruimveldt,Leopold Street engaging Albouystown A while Hope Street – Tiger Bay will battle Alexander Village.
Four exhibition matches will precede the feature matches. In the first match from 19:30 hours, Guinness Bar tackles the Media, Banks DIH Limited comes up against Sweet Hand, Clippers Barber Shop takes on Oasis while Upper Lever tackles YMCA.
Meanwhile, Sophia A and South Ruimveldt played to a stalemate in game one of the final eight-group stage match on Thursday night.
Game two saw Norton Street West defeating Cross Street by a 2-1 margin. Linden Bacchus and Dillon Legall scored in the 4th and 21 minutes for Norton Street while Dexter Marshall scored in the 18th minute.
Alexander Village and East La Penitence played to a one-all draw with goals being scored by Delon Williams in the 20th minute and Sheldon Shepherd in the 17th minute for Alexander Village and East La Penitence respectively.
LeAndre Fergus’s goal in the 26th minute was enough for Festival City to defeat West Front Road by a 1-0 margin in game four.
Game Five saw Broad Street defeating West Back Road by a 3-1 margin. Devon Adams in the 3rd minute, Daniel Favourite in the 6th minute and Jimmy Gravesande in the 17th minute were the scorers for Board Street. Cyril Bramdah scored for West Back Road.
North Last Entrance with a goal off the boot of Travis Grant in the 12th minute defeated Albouystown B by a 1-0 margin in game six.
Goals from Vincent Thomas in the 1st minute, Andy Duke in the 4th minute and Wayne Wilson in the 8th minute saw defending champions Back Circle defeating Stevedore Housing Scheme by a 3-0 margin in game seven.
In the final match Albouystown A inflicted a 7-1 drubbing on Laing Avenue. Andrew Murray scored four goals in the 3rd, 23rd, 26th and 28th minutes, followed by Devon Small with three goals in the 5th, 29th and 30th minutes. Germain Junior scored the lone goal for Laing Avenue in the 27th minute.
