(Trinidad Guardian) A disruptive passenger on aboard an American Airlines aircraft had to be restrained yesterday on a flight from Miami. Police said the Canadian national was subsequently charged for behaving in a disruptive manner while on aboard an aircraft in flight. Jacques Heroux is expected to appear in the Arima Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
According to reports, Heroux was on flight AA 221, which was carrying 117 passengers, when he became disruptive. The flight left Miami and was heading to Recife, Brazil, but had to be diverted to Piarco around 4.30 am yesterday because of Heroux, who was allegedly intoxicated and unruly.
When contacted, AA’s country director for Barbados and Trinidad Wellesley Joseph said the passenger had to be restrained by aircraft crew. The pilot diverted to land at Piarco and the passenger was removed from the aircraft.
