Four Linden teams will be participating in the Twenty-Third Annual Kashif and Shanghai Football Tournament, which begins on December 16 and ends with the final on January 1, 2013 at the Guyana National Stadium.
The Linden teams are Amelia’s Ward, Milerock, Silver Shatta Pele and Winner’s Connection.
The tournament will be played on a knockout basis over eight days between 16 of the best affiliated clubs under the Guyana Football Federation. Ten Super League clubs have gained automatic entry to the competition, while the remaining six are being selected by their associations.
Some of the other teams participating are Alpha United, Timehri Panthers, Uitvlugt, Western Tigers, Grove Hi Tec, Den Amstel, Buxton Stars, Liquid Gold, Rosignol United, Buxton United and BV Triumph.
The opening ceremony is fixed for the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) on December 16.
Games will be placed on December 19 and 21 at GFC; December 23 at Uitvlugt; December 25 (Christmas day) at BV, December 26 (Boxing day) at Buxton, December 28 (Semi-Finals) at GFC and the grand final on January 1, 2013 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
