Keen action is anticipated tonight at the Banks DIH Car Park as four teams will go home while four others will book places in the quarterfinal of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets Competition.
Tonight’s games were slated to be played at the East Ruimveldt Basketball Court but due to inclement weather the organizers were forced to shift the games to the Banks’ Car Park.
This should not put a damper on the teams as they will do their best to stay in the hunt for the $600,000 first prize.
Tonight, East Front Road will tackle North La Penitence, Globe Yard will take on Sophia B, defending champions, Back Circle will face Bent Street and Broad Street B will go up against East La Penitence.
There will also be four exhibition games.
In the first game Banks DIH Limited will face YMCA followed by Guinness Bar versus Oasis, Clippers Barber Shop versus Media and Upper Level Barber Shop versus Sweet Hand.
The four teams that have already clinched quarterfinal berths are Queen Street Tiger Bay, West Front Road, Leopold Street and High Street Tiger Bay.
On Saturday, Queen Street defeated Stevedore Housing Scheme one-nil, West Front Road edged South Ruimveldt two-one, Leopold Street trounced Albouystown A, three-nil on penalties and High Street Tiger Bay defeated Alexander Village one-nil.
Action kicks off at 19:30hrs.
