Courtney Benn Contracting Services Limited (CBCSL) is the only firm that bid to provide services for docking and repairs to the ferry MV Barima, which plies the Georgetown to North West District route.
The firm submitted a bid of $103.7M for the contract, for which the Transport and Harbours Department had invited bids.
This was among the bids opened yesterday at the National Procurement Tender Administration Board’s office in Georgetown.
There was also a lone bid for the docking of a Motor Life Boat for the Guyana Defence Force.
A $3.5M bid for the contract was received from the Guyana National Industrial Company Inc, while engineer’s estimate was given as $5,239,720.
Meanwhile, tendering for the provision of security services to the offices of the Guyana Elections Commission saw bids from three companies. The contract is divided into 18 lots, for which bids were received from R.K Guyana Security Services ($191.2M annually), Strategic Action Security Ltd ($130.2M annually inclusive of Value-Added Tax (VAT)). For lots 2,3,4,5,6,10, and 12, a bid was received from N.M Service Solution ($119.1M).
Bids were also opened for the provision of security services for the Supreme Court of the Judicature. Three companies submitted bids for the contract, which was for two lots. They were: Federal Security Services ($57.6M VAT Inclusive for lots 1 and 2), N.M Security Solution ($14.3M VAT Exclusive for Lot 2) and MMC Security Service Inc ($30.8M for Lot 1).
For the Ministry of Public Works, five bids were opened for the construction of miscellaneous roads in Region One. The engineer’s estimates for the project, which was divided into three lots, were: Lot 1, $26,017,469; Lot 2, $15,895,154; and Lot 3, $21, 156,803.
Submissions for the contract came from Atlas Construction Inc (Lot 1, $25.9M; Lot 2, $15.7M; and Lot 3, $21.1M), Chung‘s Global Enterprise (Lot 1, $28.6M; Lot 2, $21M; and Lot 3, $16.9M), Project Design Inc. (Lot 1, $25.9M; Lot 2, $15.1M; and Lot 3, $21M), Khan’s Construction & Transportation Inc (Lot 1, $51.3M; Lot 2, $36.6M; and Lot 3, $40.4M) and Falcon Transportation and Construction Services (Lot 1, $25.8M; Lot 2, $16.2M; and Lot 3, $21.8M).
Also for the Public Works Ministry, bids were opened from tendering for the trucking of laterite and the trucking of white sand to Lot 1 and Lot 2 Amaila Falls. The engineer’s estimates were for Lot 1, $26,000,000 and Lot 2, $29,000,040.
SYMS General Contracting Inc. (Lot 1, $31.8M and Lot 2, $63.3M), Falcon Transportation and Construction Services (Lot 1, $35.1M and Lot 2, $58M), MNC Inc (Lot 1, $32.5M and Lot 2, $63.3M) and Cab Construction Service (Lot 1, $25.3M Lot 2, $79.2M) bid for the contract.
