A school teacher and another woman, accused of using abusing language to each other, were placed on a bond to keep the peace yesterday by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on November 22, at 214 Cummings Street, Alberttown, Corlette Gaskin and Juanita Telford used abusive language toward each other.
Gaskin pleaded not guilty when the charge was read against her. However, Telford admitted to the evidence that was read in court against her.
As a result, Gaskin was placed on a bond to keep the peace pending the determination of the court case against her, while Telford was placed on a bond to keep the peace for one year, failing which she faces two weeks imprisonment. Her case was transferred to Court 10, where it will be called on December 4.
