The re-trial of Dwayne Jordan, who is accused of hacking his wife to death, continued yesterday before Justice Navindra Singh in the High Court.
The state’s case is being led by Konyo Thompson and Renita Singh, who presented police witness Jomo Williams to give his evidence yesterday. Williams was then cross-examined by defence counsel Nigel Hughes.
Williams’ evidence was based on the photographs he took of the crime scene, which were tendered and marked as exhibits.
During his evidence, he was allowed to explain each photograph to the court and twelve-member jury. The photographs were also passed on to each juror for them to see.
Jordan is accused of hacking his reputed wife, Claudine Rampersaud, to death on June 14, 2007 at Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara.
The trial was adjourned until Monday when the prosecution will present its next witness.
