LUCAS STOCK INDEX
The Lucas Stock Index (LSI) declined by 0.25 per cent in the final week of trading in the month of November 2012. The decline resulted from a 1.79-per cent decline in the stock value of Banks DIH (DIH), the only stock to change value this week. The two other stocks that traded this week were those of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) and Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL). As a result, for an additional week, the LSI dropped further below the 40 percentage point advantage that it enjoyed over the yield of the 364-day Treasury Bills.
