(Trinidad Guardian) China Jiangsu International Economic presented a successful TT$499,513,631. 81 bid to win the contracting job for the UWI, South Campus at Penal, according to information from Science and Technology Minister Fazal Karim.
His written reply on the issue was circulated in the Senate on Tuesday in response to an Opposition question. This stated that the list of contractors who tendered for the project included China Jiangsu’s bid, GlF Construction Corporation (TT$1,006,795,567.86,) Kier/Kee-Chanona Joint Venture (TT$769,934,445.50) and UFPO West Indies Development (TT$770,585,965.60).
The reply said the terms and conditions of the contract were outlined in the Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build, International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) 1999 First Edition. The commencement date of the project was set for September 12, and the completion date is February 15, 2014.
