Church’s Chicken and two other famous food franchises will have branches in the new Giftland Mall set to be opened early next year, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday.
Roy Beepat, President of Giftland Officemax, yesterday signed the MoU with Terrence Campbell, Chief Executive Officer of Camex Restaurants Inc, which holds the franchises for Church’s Mario’s Pizza and Quizno’s. The signing took place at the Georgetown Club, Camp Road.
According to Campbell, the new branches will raise the bar and encourage a vision of development for Guyanese. “We will have the best Church’s Chicken with the latest technology,” Campbell stated, adding that Camex Restaurants is willing to support Beepat so that his new mall will be a success.
Beepat revealed that arrangements for the opening of the mall are going along as planned and an additional strip has been added to the mall in order to accommodate more enterprises. The mall will house over 140 stores and concessions, including a new Giftland Department Store.
Beepat stated that the development has cost over $4 billion and he expects it to succeed. Noting that it would be risky if the mall is unable to attract people, he stated that it will be a mall where customers are guaranteed quality in their shopping.
The mall is not expected to open until all tenants are prepared and organised.
Giftland expects to sign more MoUs with other prominent local and international enterprises in the near future.
