11 Berbice customers benefit from Republic Bank’s customer business programme

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited said its five-week business programme aimed at improving the skills of a select group of its Berbice customers closed on November 21.

The programme, in partnership with the University of the West Indies Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School premiered in September 2010 and was designed to prepare participants for successful planning, organising and operating small to medium-sized businesses in various sectors in the economy, the bank said in a press release.

The Bank said the venture aimed at creating a vibrant network of business professionals and equipping them with the tools to enhance their businesses and improve productivity.

Graduates of Republic Bank’s Commercial Customer Business Programme 2012 display their certificates while Berbice branch managers, other bank staff, and representatives of the Arthur Lok Jack School look on.

This year, the Berbice customers benefited from training aimed at improving their abilities to assess and understand the business environment, effectively drive business strategy and implementation, financial management tips and techniques and marketing in the face of new challenges.

The programme was held every Wednesday over five weeks at the Little Rock Suites on Main Street, New Amsterdam on October 17, 24 and 31 and on November 2 and 21. It was facilitated by Hilary Bengochea, Nigel Chinapoo and Natasha Subero, lecturers at the Arthur Lok Jack School.

Eleven participants received certificates at the closing ceremony.
