A man was shot in the leg during a robbery in Albouystown early yesterday morning.
Eon Ambrose, 25, of 91 Sideline Dam, La Penitence is now nursing a gunshot wound in his left leg after he was shot by a bandit on Hunter Street and Middle Road, Albouystown. His attacker took away his cellular phone and rode away on a bicycle.
Ambrose is a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.
The police, in a press release, said Ambrose was walking east along Middle Road near Hunter Street when his attacker rode up on a bicycle and discharged a round at him, hitting him in the left leg.
Ambrose, who is a father of two, told this newspaper that he was heading home from football around 4 am, when the bandit rode up next to him on a bicycle and snatched his cellular phone. He said that after the bandit took away his phone, he then pulled his gun on him.
“When I see he draw the gun, I run away and then he start to shoot me more than one time and one catch me,” Ambrose said, adding that he managed to make it home, from where he was taken to the hospital.
Ambrose said he could not see the thief’s face because he had a rag tied around it.
No one was arrested in connection with the crime but investigations are ongoing.
