The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) said 18 persons from the Region 10 Regional Democratic Council were trained in Disaster Risk Management (DRM) from November 19-28 and the region presented with an emergency kit to boost its capacity to respond to disaster.
According to a press release, personnel from the RDC, NDC, various communities and NGOs participated in the exercise which was conducted with support from the United Nations Development Programme.
Eighteen persons were trained as Shelter Managers, 18 underwent training in Damage Assessment and 17 were trained in Emergency Operations centre Management.
