Government says it will not condone businesspersons who may try to rip off consumers during the festive season.
Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce (ag) Irfaan Ali has said there is a steady supply of produce, including eggs and meat, on the market and advised that there would be zero-tolerance for persons attempting to jack-up prices.
“Earlier this year, there was a steep (drop) in supplies.
However, we have made the right interventions and have since seen an influx of produce on the market,” Ali said, according to a Government Information Agency press release.
During the holiday season, the prices of eggs and meat usually skyrockets, GINA noted.
