-some handsets going for 70% off
Digicel customers will be racing to win themselves three Samsung smartphones during their Christmas promotion which runs from today to December 21.
This was disclosed yesterday at the Georgetown Club where the telecommunications company launched its Christmas promotions: the ‘Samsung galaxy top up’ promotion and the ‘Digicel, Let’s share a smile’ promotion.
Nine phones are up for grabs this season, three Samsung Galaxy Note phones, three Samsung Galaxy S3 phones and three Samsung Galaxy S3 mini phones.
Marketing Manager Jacqueline James explained that customers need to top up their Digicel phones with $500 or more in order to collect letters which spell the word ‘Galaxy’. However, she said, unlike the usual promotions where there is a draw to select the winners, this promotion will see the first three customers to spell the word ‘Galaxy’ taking home one each of the Samsung smartphones.
These persons will have to contact the head office once they have the word spelt in order to claim their prize.
Meanwhile, the ‘Digicel, Let’s share a smile’ promotion will see Digicel setting up what they dub ‘Santa villages’ in more than 15 communities across Guyana, including Lethem, Linden, Berbice and in Essequibo. This promotion will begin on December 12 and will run up to Christmas day.
In addition to these promotions, Digicel will offer its customers handsets for as low as $2,500 and up to a 70% discount on selected handsets.
Also, for every smartphone that is purchased, customers will receive one month free data service.
“Very first Christmas promotion in 2007 when Digicel was launched in Guyana we had handsets for as low as 2900, the lowest price ever. That was our Christmas promotion tied into the DVD promo… Now we have handsets for as low as $2,500. That is the lowest handset price ever in Guyana,” James stated.
