Thieves robbed an electronic store on Tuesday evening of appliances reportedly worth over $6 million.
The proprietor of the King Street store said that she had planned to open the store to the public for the Christmas season but when she arrived at the store on Wednesday morning the majority of the electrical appliances were missing.
“The windows and doors were broken and more than half of my items were gone,” Kamine Seejatan, the owner of the store, told Stabroek News yesterday. “I had stoves, refrigerators, washing machine and other appliance,” She said that she was offering a reward to anyone who could give the police information about the robbery.
Seejatan is also the owner of Special Auto located on 217 South Road, George-town.
