A “Walk for Equality,” organized by Red Thread, Justice Institute Guyana, the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination of the Guyana Equality Forum will be held tomorrow, in observance of Human Rights Day.
Human Rights Day, observed on December 10, celebrates human rights, highlights challenges and advocates full enjoyment of all human rights for everyone, the groups representing the Guyana Equality Forum said in a statement, while inviting the public to participate in the walk.
It said persons can participate as an individual or as a member of an organization and are invited to bring banners and posters and wear T-Shirts reflecting support for equality and human rights.
The walk will begin at 3:30pm from the assembly point at the Parade Ground, Middle Street.
The route is west along Middle Street, south into Main Street, east into Church Street, south into Avenue of the Republic, continuing south along High Street, east into Brickdam, north into Camp Street, and west into Middle Street to end at the Parade Ground.
