(Jamaica Gleaner) Cayman Premier McKeeva Bush has been released from police custody on overnight bail.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service says Bush faced a series of interviews following his arrest this morning.
The police say he was released from custody on overnight bail and has been ordered to return to face further questioning tomorrow morning.
The 57-year-old Premier was arrested by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service Financial Crime Unit at his home in West Bay.
The police say he is being investigated on suspicion of theft, in connection with financial irregularities relating to the alleged misuse of a government credit card; breach of trust; abuse of office and conflict of interest, contrary to the Anti-Corruption Law 2008.
Bush is also accused of being involved in the alleged importation of explosive substances without valid permits on or before February 2012.
Bush was expected in Jamaica this week to be honoured by the University College of the Caribbean.
