The Association of Exporters of the Dominican Republic (ADOEXPO) singled out Caribbean Export for special recognition for its “strong interest” and “constant support” of the development of its exporting sector, at its 40th anniversary celebrations held on Friday.
According to a press release, Escipion Oliveira-Gomez, Deputy Executive Director received the award on behalf of the agency. In his remarks, Oliveira-Gomez praised the agency’s staff for their hard work and further expressed appreciation for the support of the Board, the Caricom Secretariat, the Cariforum Directorate, the General Directorate for Multilateral Cooperation of the Dominican Republic and the European Union. He also pledged that the agency will continue to partner with ADOEXPO and the regional private sector “in its quest for global competitiveness.”
The Agency also received congratulatory messages from Colin Murdoch, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Dominican Republic, and Chairman of the Board who expressed gratitude for the prestigious award. “We feel a sense of genuine partnership with ADOEXPO and wish to congratulate ADOEXPO on their continued success,” he said. Murdoch also lauded the agency’s staff, including Executive Director Pamela Coke Hamilton, other agency and stakeholder partners and the European Union.
Ivan Ogando Lora, Director General, Cariforum Directorate was also pleased about the recognition. “…The recognition made by ADOEXPO demonstrates the work that has been done.” He also said Cariforum looks forward to continued close collaboration “for the support of the region’s exporters and for making the EPA implementation process a tool for the real benefit of our CARIFORUM economies.”
