Boxer, Edmond DeClou believes that December 28th will be a stepping stone in the right direction for his career when he expects to defeat Barbadian Shaka Henry.
The fight which is promoted by Hurry Up Promotions in collaboration with Elton ‘Coolie Bully’ Dharry and Pearl Vodka will be held in the auditorium of the Sophia Exhibition Centre.
“I would not describe this as a big break, but it is the biggest fight of my career. Maybe the next bell fight will be my break”.
This fight, he said, would open up opportunities for him while putting him in contention for a possible title fight.
Asked if he knows about Henry, DeClou said no, but would definitely be doing his homework before fight night.
“Definitely on the 28th I don’t care where the guy from, how hard he trains or how good his record is, I will beat him”.
DeClou a mason by profession said he was in and out of gym in Linden where he resides, but said since he has time on his hand, he came to the city to do some intense training at the Andrew ‘Six Heads’ Lewis gym.
Currently he said he is working on strength training, but will move to glove work and sparring next week.
This time around he is fighting in the Middleweight division, which he said he is still awaiting word on whether he has to lose weight or gain weight for the fight. He said that has to be very soon given the fight is just around the corner.
