Canada is to construct a new Chancery at its Kingston location.
A notice in today’s Stabroek News said that Canada through its Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade is planning to build a new High Commission in Georgetown at its property located at Lots 97 and 98 and Lots 61 and 62 facing High Street, Young Street and Duke Street.
In the first phase, Canada is seeking to prequalify contractors and this will be followed by Phase 2, a traditional competitive process.
For phase one, Canada is seeking proposals from firms with relevant construction experience in Guyana and/or the Caribbean who possess appropriate registration/licensing and can obtain contract security and insurance. A score of “adequate” is required to pass the phase one evaluation.
Phase two will be the traditional competitive tender process. Six contractors with the highest score will be invited to participate. The traditional competitive process will be for a minimum of 40 days.
