Dear Editor,
While driving by our High Court on South Road this morning (Dec 17) I saw Senior Counsel Miles Fitzpatrick frantically waving at a driver to watch out for the open manhole close to the middle of the street (the South Road entrance of the High Court). This manhole has been without a cover for over six weeks. Do we have to wait until someone is maimed or killed before action is taken?
Who is responsible for replacing the ‘missing’ manhole cover reported to be in the High Court compound? Maybe we need to start making manhole covers out of some low value material as the metal ones are being stolen and sold for scrap metal.
Yours faithfully,
Syeada Manbodh
