Just a few weeks after street lights were turned on in East Canje it’s now about 8 weeks that about half of Betsy Ground is without the facility.
The joy and security attendant on street lights were short-lived and enquiries as to the reason for not restoring the lights is ridiculous. The NDC chairman says the matter is in police hands and when the truck people who damaged one post pay, the lights will return. Another source says the contractor for the project does not have time to effect the necessary repairs.
Editor, we all know this is Guyana, so what to expect? Baffling indeed! I hope residents can have it in time for Xmas and not have to wait for the next election.
